Lighting shaped by restraint.
Founded in Copenhagen in 2019, LUMORA began as a small studio exploring the space between architecture, craft and atmosphere. We design lighting that feels inevitable — quiet, considered, and made to last.
Our collection is developed slowly, piece by piece, in close collaboration with artisans across Europe. Every form is studied, every material is questioned, every detail is refined until it earns its place.
Less object. More atmosphere.
We believe a light fixture should recede into the architecture of a space when it's off, and define its mood when it's on. The best lighting is felt before it is seen.
Our approach draws from Scandinavian design traditions — functional clarity, material honesty, and a deep respect for craft — but we draw freely from architecture, sculpture and the quiet beauty of everyday objects.
Design with intent
Every shape, proportion and detail is considered. We design by subtraction — removing anything that doesn't serve the piece's essential character.
Material honesty
We work with natural materials — solid brass, hand-blown glass, solid wood, alabaster. Each ages with dignity, developing character over time rather than wearing out.
Made to last
We build fixtures for decades, not seasons. Replaceable LED modules, modular hardware and a dedicated repair program mean your LUMORA piece can serve for generations.
Materials that age with grace.
We source our materials from small, specialist foundries, glassblowers and workshops — many of whom we have worked with since the beginning. The relationship between designer and maker is at the heart of what we do.
We choose materials not just for their appearance, but for how they will change over time. Brass will patina. Wood will mellow. Glass will collect the light of decades. These are not flaws — they are evidence of a life well lived.

Each material is selected for its inherent beauty, durability and the way it interacts with light. Here are some of the materials you will find across our collection.
Solid brass
Hand-finished in brushed, polished or antique patina. Develops a rich, warm character with age. All brass fixtures are lacquer-free to allow natural patination.
Mouth-blown glass
Each shade is hand-blown by master glassmakers in Bohemia. Subtle variations in thickness and clarity make every piece one of a kind.
Natural alabaster
Hand-carved from solid alabaster quarried in Spain. When lit, its translucency reveals natural veining in warm, luminous patterns unique to each piece.
Solid hardwood
FSC-certified oak and walnut from sustainably managed European forests. Turned, sanded and oiled by hand in our workshop outside Copenhagen.
